The Leitzinger Brothers Building has been an integral part of Clearfield's landscape since 1901. For nearly a century, Leitzingers Department Store occupied the impressive five-story brick edifice, before shutting its doors in 1996.
The building was given a new lease of life in 1999 when Historica Plus Antiques was established, transforming it into a vibrant hub for antique enthusiasts. What a beautiful, well organized antique store! There are so many treasures inside just waiting to be found. I ended up with 3 bags worth of items, and a few freebies. I am a Leitzinger after all! It was excellent to meet Jim, my late grandfathers cousin. He found for me an old receipt booklet and coupon booklet that he gave me at no charge. I wanted something with the family name on it. All the old news articles display on the 2nd floor near the tube system were incredible to look through. My great grandfather founded this store and I feel so blessed to have been able to drive down from Erie and visit.

I've been going here for years, and before I have changed its name and it had the Leitzenger's monicer still attached to the business name within the building.. it's a pretty cool place with tons of old and unique or rare collectibles, commodities, and antiquities of days gone past.. Walking around the other night though, it was a spooky taking photos outside of it .. there was a certain vibration the airwaves of the night, when I was walking around downtown Clearfield, Pa.. look in the windows of my edited versions of the OG photographs.. faces? . Pareidolia.. whoo knows

What an amazing old apartment store tranformed into an antique store. There are good prices from most venders. If you are into nostalgia the third floor former business office area is very interesting. Parking is free on the weekends but have your quarters ready during the week.

Clean, well-maintained, friendly staff, 3 floors of items. Nothing too impressive in inventory - I left without buying anything because it was all stuff I'd seen at other antique shops. A nice way to spend an hour.
